Case Study: Food Photography for Cinnamon Culture, Chislehurst
Capturing the Food, Chef and Heritage of Cinnamon Culture Through Professional Restaurant Photography
The Brief:
Cinnamon Culture, a family-run Indian restaurant in Chislehurst, commissioned us to create a compelling visual story that celebrates their award-winning cuisine, talented chef, and rich family heritage.
The brief was to produce a suite of high-quality food photography and restaurant imagery that showcased their most iconic dishes, alongside behind-the-scenes photography capturing the chef in action. The imagery needed to reflect Cinnamon Culture’s refined dining experience, vibrant flavours, and warm, welcoming hospitality—while remaining authentic to the restaurant’s identity.
These images were intended for use across their restaurant website, social media marketing, and promotional materials, helping to strengthen their brand presence and attract new diners.
Our Approach:
We spent a full day on location at Cinnamon Culture in Chislehurst, working closely with the chef and restaurant owners to capture both the energy of the kitchen and the elegance of the finished dishes.
Our approach combined natural light food photography with carefully styled lighting setups, allowing us to highlight the textures, colours, and rich detail of each plate. Alongside the food photography, we captured candid chef portraits, action shots in the kitchen, and ambient restaurant scenes, emphasising the passion, skill, and craftsmanship behind every meal.
The visual direction was kept warm, inviting, and premium, ensuring the final imagery felt true to the Cinnamon Culture dining experience while elevating their overall visual identity.
The Results:
The final image library included a striking collection of restaurant food photography, chef portraits, and lifestyle imagery, all tailored for use across:
Website and online menus
Social media content and campaigns
Marketing and promotional materials
The client was delighted with the results, describing the photographs as “authentic, mouth-watering, and beautifully shot.” The success of the shoot has already led to discussions around future seasonal food photography sessions, creating a foundation for an ongoing creative partnership.
Beyond elevating Cinnamon Culture’s visual branding, the photography helped reaffirm a sense of pride in their culinary craft—laying the groundwork for more delicious storytelling to come (and an exceptionally good lunch).
